Jedi Temple
The Jedi Temple, located on the planet Coruscant is one of the largest buildings in Capitol City. The Coruscant Temple's origins date back to 5000 BBY when, at the beginning of the Great Hyperspace War, the Galactic Republic granted the Jedi land on Coruscant over a sacred mountain, which contained a Force nexus. Throughout many wars and conflicts, the Jedi Temple has stood. When the Emperor came to power, and the Empire was created, Operation Knightfall went into effect. The Temple was attacked and destroyed, along with all the Jedi inside. When the New Republic was founded after the Battle of Endor, the Jedi Temple was restored, and Luke Skywalker became the first Grand Master of the New Jedi Order.
